In honor of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day Eureka along with others across the country hosted a virtual community screening of the newly released award-winning documentary “The Story of Plastic.”
The film takes a sweeping look at the man-made crisis of plastic pollution and the worldwide effect it has on the health of our planet and the people who inhabit it. It features interviews with experts and activists on the front lines of the fight, revealing the disastrous consequences of the flood of plastic smothering ecosystems and poisoning communities around the world, and the global movement that is rising up in response.

We followed up our screening by hosting a special webinar event where we heard from Eureka’s Co-President Lynn Hoffman and our Policy and Advocacy Manager, Priscilla Villa-Watt as they explained how plastics are made, why we’re seeing an increase in production, and the big role we all play in preventing waste. Thanks to all who joined us and, in case you missed it, you can find a helpful guide on Twitter or watch it here!
